Do-seum Museum

Finally! I've been wanting to check out the Doseum in San Antonio for awhile now and we finally made it. It is an AWESOME museum if you have children and are looking for something to do in San Antonio. I had been hesitant to go because it's $12 a person age 1 and over, which seemed a bit much to me. But it is well worth it. If we lived close, I would have a membership and be there once at least once a week!

But on to our visit...

There was an entire area of various mirrors - they liked this one because they looked tall.

All kinds of things to build with and suction cup things to stick on these mirrors. There was a camera at the top that projected onto the wall giving a kaleidoscope effect that was pretty neat. This was also right next to a wind tunnel but I didn't get pictures of that.

Of course there was a kid city for 5 and under complete with grocery store, airplane, trolley, cars, vet office, post office, construction site, and more. They could have spent the whole day in this area but I forced them to move on. Levi kept trying to arrest the other kids.

There was even a "park" in kid city for 18 months and younger only (and moms).

Mattie was a busybody, doing her own thing.

Aunt Hannah joined us at the museum because she wanted to check it out too! She snuck some pictures of Mattie for me (who did not want her picture taken).

Uh oh, animals need surgery. Time to get the scrubs on.

Levi was really controlling the bucket!

This one whole area played with light and shadows and reflections. Mattie loved playing on the projectors. Totally old school - do kids these days even know what they are?

In an outdoor area that said 5 and up but Mattie loved climbing all over this rope ladder. There was also this huge tepee type structure with a big slide that Aunt Hannah and I may or may not have climbed up and slid down. It said 5 and UP.

The wooden throne.

There is so much more that we did but I didn't get pictures of. The outdoor water play table area, the tree house, the entire upstairs area of the museum, the sound area where the kids banged around on instruments, and so much more. Seriously, this place is enormous. But after 3 hours of sensory overload and it was getting to be 1:00, we were hungry and had to leave. We will have to come back another time!
