Fall/Halloween Fun with the Kids

I've been trying out some different Pinterest ideas again to get the kids ready for Halloween. First, Levi helped me tear apart croissants and wrap them around these hotdogs/sausages to make "Mummy dogs." He loves helping with anything in the kitchen so this was right up his alley. They were all eaten up too. I think Levi had 3 in addition to other things for his lunch that day.

I also told him to draw a ghost face on the cheese. He did his (the left) without seeing mine (the right). Not bad!

We also decorated pretzels. I dipped them, he decorated them. I tried having Mattie decorate but she is not quite ready. Unless somebody wants an inch thick layer of sprinkles on their pretzel. This one was a werewolf, Levi told me. He might have a future in this!

Levi's creations

These were kitty cats. (I told him they also could be bats or owls.)

Later we made another batch. He put the eyes on the mummies for me and Mattie managed to put the green M&M on the pumpkins.

My mom and I went to a craft fair and I attempted to get some pumpkin patch pictures while we were there. Yeah...

And lastly, I reused my wreath from last year and put up these wooden bats I got at the craft fair. I still want to get some pumpkins to put beneath and it will be complete.

Happy Fall, Y'all!

Swinging into Fall

Today we finally had some beautiful Fall weather. I finally got this baby swing out and put up on the swing set to try with Hailey. She loved it, as is obvious from all the pictures; I had a hard time picking which ones to post!

First Soccer Team

Levi has completed his first team sport - soccer. He has really enjoyed it and had a lot of fun, which is the main thing at this age, I think. He even scored a goal in one game! Now, I am not a sports person. At all. I could care less about any sport, and any team. Yes, there are teams I like to see win. My Aggies of course, the San Antonio Spurs, Houston Texans, and the Astros. But I am by no means a super fan, sporting team colors and watching the games. Nor do I have any athletic ability in my body. At all. I'm just not coordinated, fast, or powerful enough to do anything athletic related - and I'm ok with that. But for me to willingly sign up my child for soccer and attend games and practices (3 days a week) was a huge sacrifice that I hope my children realize one day. I spent the whole time trying to pacify Hailey and keep Mattie close by and out of the way while sweating in the hot sun or trying to hold an umbrella and baby when it rained. Mattie did practice some with the team which was fine, but no, you can not get on the field on game days! She was a great cheerleader though, chanting and cheering for the Hotshots!

At practice. Mattie prefers to hold the ball.

At a game. Yes, she dresses herself. This is all her. Can you see and feel the attitude?

Young, wild, and three

Last game of the season (we won)!

Last game team photo.

After party!

Coach Art was wonderful. He gave a little speech about each kid as he handed them their medal.

So proud of his first medal!

Movin' On Up

Somebody has been working hard on pulling up. She doesn't have it down pat yet, but before I know it she'll be walking!

This onesie is getting in my way Mom!

Just getting a better view of Curious George.

Hi Dad!

Lots of help around here

Ready to start helping with laundry!

But you have to be careful when trying to get pictures of babies in their natural habitat. You are likely to be attacked if you are on their level!

Haha, with Mattie behind her it looks like she has hair!

Round Top Antiquing

My sister Hannah and I spent all day last Friday at the Round Top antique festival. We had no idea what to expect and what we encountered blew our minds. For those that have never been, it is miles and miles of tents along the highway with anything and everything you can imagine. It was a blast searching for treasures - I can't wait until I have a proper house to decorate! We didn't buy much this time; I think we were just soaking it all in. But we will be back next year ;)

We had a blast on this see-saw. I really want one!

Since Hailey is still nursing and won't take a bottle, she had to go with us. She had a good time with her cute Aunt!
