This little possum came crawling out of the corn trough we keep full for the deer the other morning. He must have had an all night, all you can eat buffet because he was in no rush, just waddling around the yard, sniffing things, came over for a drink of water, not minding me at all, and just kept going on his merry way. What a life.

Levi's Pirate Parrrty
My 4 Year Old:
To make sure everybody knew where the party was at:
The games:
Decorating their treasure chests with stick on jewels
Walking the Plank
That's my dollar store blow up crocodile.

Hook's Ring Toss
I used glow necklaces from the dollar store for the rings and lots of black duct tape on the sign!

And from after I had finished painting it a couple of days before:
Coconut Bowling
I wrapped some plastic containers in paper to look like palm trees and used real coconuts as the ball.

Dig for Treasure
Cannonball Toss
Water balloons. I bought the ones that fill up 33 at a time. Which meant I filled up 100 water balloons in about a minute!

The food:
The "Crocodile Teeth" were pieces of cheese cut into triangles.

Those are the fish and chips to the left of the Pixie dust.
The kids ate corn dogs (and some adults) but we also had grilled chicken and sausage for the adults.
When Levi saw the Pirate Ship Cake, he told me I was the best Mommy in the world and that he loved it. It made my day and makes it totally worth it.
And finally he opened his gifts to conclude the party. Everybody got to go home with full treasure chests and swords and eye patches.
Thank you so much to everybody that came; it means a lot that you spent your Saturday morning celebrating with us!

Blueberry Farm Fun
Every Friday night there is a Farmer's Market in town which I shop at. One Friday there was a booth with fresh blueberries which I bought for the kiddos. I found out they came from a farm nearby where you can set up an appointment to pick your own blueberries! This sounded like a fun activity to do with friends, so I threw the idea out and had several people interested in joining us. After arranging a date and time that worked for most of us, we met up at the farm to pick some blueberries. The owners were wonderful and very welcoming to our small group and all the kids had a fantastic time.
Levi did a pretty good job of picking them and not eating too many!
Mattie, on the other hand, shoved them straight from the bush to her mouth. I think she had 2 in her basket.
We were hot but the blueberries tasted so good! We ended up with almost 4 lbs.
