Visiting Great Grandmother

Now that school is over, we were able to make a trip to visit Pop and Gram and my Grandmother. Hailey's middle name, Grace, is my Grandmother's name, so I know she was excited to meet her namesake. We visited her several times while we were there which she immensely enjoyed. Even Levi and Mattie like visiting her and Levi told her, "I love you Grandmother; you're my favorite Grandmother." Her 85 year old heart about melted.

We also got hang out Uncle Jacob on his day off. We woke him up but he was excited to meet his newest niece. She was happy to meet him too.

Water Gun Painting

The other day I tried something with the kids that I have been wanting to try ever since I saw it on Pinterest. Painting with water guns. I bought a cheap pack of 8 guns from Wal-Mart and filled them with watercolor paint. I have tubes of watercolor based paint that you mix with water to achieve whatever level of transparency you desire. So I squeezed some paint into the fill hole, added water and shook them up. I did 4 colors to keep it simple. Then I rolled out some long pieces of paper and let them at it!

Shake, Rattle, Boom

Boom, boom, boom, boom. As Justin was walking out to his car this morning to get a flashlight (our power went out this morning for a few hours), he came across something we happily had not seen on our property before. One minute I was asleep, and the next I'm hearing gun shots right outside the window. I look up and see Justin shooting at something on the driveway. A few minutes later I discovered what it was.

I held the flashlight as he chopped off it's head. That was too close to the house for my comfort!
