Hose Helper

Levi helped hold the hose while we filled the watering cans for the animals. He did a great job!

Note the marker all over his arms:

I left him alone with markers for a minute to put Mattie in bed and he did this. It really took everything I had not to laugh. And I still don't understand his reasoning (see the video below).

Wagon Rides

Levi loves to pull Mattie around in the red wagon. Sometimes she enjoys it, sometimes she doesn't. Luckily, she was in the mood for it this time.

Tractor Needed

Our next big purchase, sooner rather than later, will be a tractor. Justin walked the front meadow and all along the front fence line using the brush mower to mow. It looks really good but that was quite an all day workout for him!

While he was mowing, I found a bunch of dewberry plants! They grow along the ground, not up, so they are kind of hard to find. I found a few of the black/dark purple berries that we ate right then. They start as white flowers before forming the berries. It goes from green to red to black, which is when they are ready to eat! Now to find the time to actually go out and pick the berries each day as they ripen...

Helping Hands

Levi helped me make a wreath to hang on the front fence. And yes, I am half in my pajamas; I was tired, it was the end of the day, and that's how I roll.

Red and Yellow...

Kill a Fellow. The first snake we have seen out here was about 10 feet from the front porch. Levi, Bella the dog, and Justin were outside playing when Justin kept hearing a rustling in the bushes. Bella heard it too and was trying to get whatever it was, so Justin went to check it out. Next thing I know, he's throwing Levi inside, yelling at the dog, and grabbing a shotgun. After shooting it 3 times, he finally went and got a shovel. I watched it to make sure it didn't go anywhere before Justin hacked it to pieces. The head kept moving and opening and closing it's mouth for a long time after it was separated from the body, which was creepy. Also, Justin discovered a little garden snake inside of the coral snake (you can see it in the first 2 pictures). We first thought it was just sinew/part of the snake holding the ends together until the pieces fell off and revealed the other snake. *Shudder*

Bunny Scouts

Before Easter, the Easter Bunny was sending out his scouts:

Levi tried to catch one but it was too fast!
